Carlos began his woodworking career at Cerritos College as a student in 1997 completing numerous classes in furniture, cabinetry and architectural millwork. In 2001 Carlos was hired as an Instructional Aide and has since assisted in most of the furniture and cabinet courses offered in the WMT program. In 2004 he was hired as an adjunct faculty member and was given the opportunity to teach the Introduction to Woodworking (WMT 101) class.

Although not a professional woodworker, Carlos feels his perspective as a former student and aide allow him to teach effectively. His goal is to share the priceless knowledge he has gained by learning from and working with the finest woodworking teachers. He believes that students should be encouraged to explore and challenge their creativity and to complete each project based on personal abilities and skill level.

His previous career background includes over 25 years in the field of architectural and mechanical drafting and design. He has an AA degree in General Technology from Cerritos College and graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University, Los Angeles with a BS degree in Industrial Technology.

Carlos lives in Whittier with his wife, two children and black labs. Besides spending time with his family and friends he enjoys camping, reading, target shooting and listening to music. When time permits you might also see him cruising around in his 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS.
