WPMD RADIO MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission statement is really a question:

What can we broadcast that is of the greatest help to the greatest number of students for the greater good of the college and the community?”

WPMD is a first class radio production facility offering hands-on experience with digital and analog equipment to our students. The enormous pool of talent from the campus offers a rich combination of programming that highlights success at Cerritos College.

Function

T.I.S. stations are for information- only.  Normally, this includes: news, traffic, travel advisories, direction, lodging, and local points of interest.

These stations operate on a secondary status to commercial radio.  There are no commercials allowed.

We think Cerritos College is a great local point of interest and a great hub.  Cerritos College is one of the few ways these nine cities are connected.

The only radio, television or print medium dedicated expressly to our 22,000 students and approximately half a million residents is WPMD-956 on 1700 AM.
