Early Alert Program (EAP)

The CalWORKs program has established an Early Alert Program (EAP) to guide students through their educational process. The goal is to help students obtain a better understanding of the requirements and resources that Cerritos College offers in order to obtain a Certificate of Achievement, Associate of Arts degree, or transfer to achieve a higher education.

As part of the CalWORKs and Early Alert Program (EAP), students are required to attend a Student Success Orientation to maintain early enrollment where they will:


Learn how to use campus resources, such as: 

  • Admissions, Counseling, Financial Aid, Health & Wellness, Student Success Center
  • Develop an Education Plan
  • Learn Strategies for Student Success

Priority Enrollment

  1. Take the Placement Test in English, Reading and Math

  2. Attend a CalWORKs Student Success Orientation EAP Orientation with Blanca Gamez
    If you have NOT attended an Orientation please call to schedule your EAP Orientation at (562) 860-2451 ext. 2377
  3. Meet with a counselor to develop a Comprehensive Student Educational Plan
    For appointments please contact our front desk at (562) 860-2451 ext. 2593
  4. Register for classes on your appointment date.

  5. Complete and Turn-in aWork-In-Progress Report (WIP)PDF document
