Ramona Mellgoza Earns Certified Professional Public Buyer Credential
Purchasing Buyer Ramona Mellgoza recently received the Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) credential from the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC).
Ramona was among 129 professionals nation-wide, and one of eight professionals in California, who successfully completed the CPPB examination in May. Established in 1979, this prestigious certification is an outstanding honor for individuals employed in the public procurement profession, and is an asset to the College as well.
To become certified as a CPPB, candidates must demonstrate formal education, procurement related coursework/training, public procurement experience, and professional competency as a buyer in public purchasing in a comprehensive written examination.
"Earning a professional certification designation in the public procurement profession helps ensure trust and credibility in our field. An achievement of this designation also reflects a commitment to the profession, as well as knowledge and experience that supports public procurement best practices,” said Mark B. Logan, CPPO, C.P.M., Director of Purchasing and Contract Administration of Cerritos College. “We are extremely proud of Ramona and her daily contributions to the Cerritos College campus community that she serves to ensure students of the college have the tools and resources they need to be successful.”
