Foundation Scholarships -- Automotive

To apply for any of the scholarships listed below, please complete the Automotive Technology Scholarship Application and submit to the Foundation Office no later than April 5, 2013.

Anthony J. Franklin Automotive Scholarship (Spring)

Established by Kimberly & James Corbitt in memory of their son, Anthony J. Franklin. Anthony had been pursuing his education in automotive technology when his dream was unexpectedly cut short when he was involved in a fatal car accident on June 3, 2010. This scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding student enrolled in an automotive program at Cerritos College.

To apply for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in an automotive training program at Cerritos College
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Enrolled full time (minimum of 12 units)
  • Completed a minimum of 24 units
  • U.S. Citizen

Annual Award one (1) $500 scholarship

Jeannie M.T. Yang Automotive Scholarship(Fall/Spring)

Established in memory of Dr. Jeannie M.T. Yang, a community college professor who was from mainland China who had a great love for education. This scholarship will be awarded to students gaining skills for a career in the automotive industry. 

To apply for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in Cerritos College automotive classes pursuing a career in the automotive industry
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75

Annual Award four (4) $500 scholarships  

SMCDA Automotive Technology Scholarship(Fall/Spring)

Established by the Southland Motor Car Dealers Association (SMCDA) for students enrolled in an automotive apprentice program at Cerritos College.

To apply for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in a Cerritos College automotive apprentice program
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0

Annual Award six (6) $500 tool vouchers to Matco Tools

SMCDA Northwood 3rd Year Scholarship(Fall/Spring)

Established by the Southland Motor Car Dealers Association (SMCDA) for 3rd year Northwood University students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

To apply for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Enrolled in Northwood University (3rd Year)
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5

Annual Award two (2) $750 scholarships
