Foundation Scholarships -- Re-Entry

Carmen Solis Pratt Scholarship (FALL)

Established in honor of Carmen Solis Pratt, mother of Foundation Board member the Honorable Dan Pratt.  This scholarship is awarded to a re-entry student, male or female, 35 years or older. 

Annual Award $800/semester($1,600 total)

E. Maude West Scholarship (FALL)

Established in honor of long-time Artesia resident, E. Maude West, who was renowned in the community for her charitable work and her commitment to women's issues and the pursuit of educational goals. This scholarship is awarded to a deserving first year, female re-entry student. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen.

Annual Award $500

Ellen Carver Scholarship (FALL)

Established by the Woman's Club of Artesia-Cerritos in memory of club member Ellen Carver, this scholarship is awarded to a deserving female student re-entering the academic world. Applicants must have between 30 to 60 units completed and be a U.S. Citizen. 

Annual Award $750

Golden Girls Scholarship (FALL)

Established by a group of "Golden Girls", this scholarship is awarded to female re-entry students who have completed at least 24 units. Applicants must be U.S.Citizens. 

Annual Award $700

Jean O. Michael Scholarship (FALL)

Established in honor of Jean O. Michael, wife of former Cerritos College President Dr. Wilford Michael, to provide scholarships for female re-entry students who are majoring in business, shows financial need and is a full-time student (12 units or more). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen.

Annual Award $500/semester($1,000 total)

Julie Ann Cross Memorial Scholarship (FALL)

This scholarship was established in memory of Julie Ann Cross who began attending Cerritos College as a re-entry student and accounting major after the birth of her two oldest children. The mother of current Cerritos College Trustee John Paul Drayer, Mrs. Cross worked many years as the Student Body Activities Clerk at Mayfair High School in Lakewood before losing her six year battle with breast cancer in 2003. She was also mother to former Cerritos College ASCC Vice President & Homecoming Princess Melissa Drayer Petersen and Amy Drayer.

This scholarship is awarded to a male or female re-entry student with children with a minimum GPA of 2.8.

Annual Award $500

Norwalk Woman's Club Scholarship (FALL)

Established by the Norwalk Woman's Club, this scholarship is awarded to a deserving female re-entry student. Applicants must have at least 20 units complete. Members of the Norwalk Woman's Club make the selection of the recipient.

Woman's Club of Artesia-Cerritos Scholarship (FALL)

Established by the Woman's Club of Artesia-Cerritos, this scholarship is awarded to a deserving female student re-entering the academic world. Applicants must have between 30 to 60 units completed and be a U.S. Citizen.
