Cerritos College Hosts 15th Annual Senior Preview Day for High School Seniors

High school seniors at the eventNORWALK, Calif. - May 14, 2013 - Cerritos College held its 15th annual Senior Preview Day on April 19. Approximately 800 seniors attended the half-day open house event from an array of high schools from the greater Los Angeles area.

"This year we nearly tripled the size of our exhibit fair with 50 different areas represented including automotive, cosmetology and administration of justice. We are always excited to showcase our campus to high school seniors and counselors through Senior Preview Day, which is now in its 15th year." said Shirley Arceo, coordinator of school relations who orchestrates the event.
Activities began with a welcome rally in the Amphitheatre complete with a DJ and overview of the day's event. Following the rally, future students could visit the nearly 60 exhibit booths in Falcon Square and sign up for one of 20 presentations and facility tours.

Booth FairFollowing a morning filled with the exploration of co-curricular and various program options, visitors enjoyed lunch from Hot Dog on a Stick and Fresh Fries food trucks. The entertainment was provided by the Cerritos College Pop/Rock Music Ensemble.

The college also hosted a special luncheon for high school counselors where specific programs and services were highlighted.

Every year, Senior Preview Day introduces high school seniors to Cerritos College's academic and career technical education programs, student services, student life and athletic programs. The event showcases Cerritos College and presents signature programs and viable post-secondary options to high school seniors.

"Everything was excellent. I thank you for an excellent orientation to your campus. I will definitely bring kids every year if you will have us!" said one of the high school counselors.
